Recordings and data
PreviewWhat RowCall stores for each call, where it lives, how long it stays, and how to export or delete it under the DPDP Act.
Every RowCall call creates data about a real person: their phone number, their voice, what they said and the answers they gave. This page explains what we keep, where, for how long, and how you control it.
What is stored for each call
| Data | What it is |
|---|---|
| Contact | The phone number and the inputs you sent (name, order id, items) |
| Consent record | The consent text, time and source you sent |
| Recording | The audio of the whole call |
| Transcript | Every line said, with speaker, language and time |
| Answers | The typed answers the flow captured |
| Actions | Every action the call asked your systems to take, and the reply |
| Outcome | How the call ended and why |
Where it lives
Call data is stored in India, in Bengaluru: the database, transcripts, recordings and backups. To place and understand a call, RowCall sends call audio and text to telephony, speech and AI providers, some of which process it outside India, including in the United States. RowCall is built and operated by Loopclub Internet Private Limited, New Delhi, which processes this data on your behalf. See the Data processing terms.
How long it stays
Recordings, transcripts, answers and outcomes stay until you delete them or close your org, and are deleted 30 days after your agreement ends. Call logs and consent and opt-out records are kept for at least one year, and longer where the law requires, so RowCall can answer complaints. Keep recordings only as long as you need them.
Who can see it
Only members of your org, by role. Viewers can read calls; only owners and admins change data settings. See Roles and permissions. RowCall staff access an org's data only to support it, to review your business for approval, or to meet a legal duty, and those views are logged.
We don't use your shoppers' recordings, transcripts or other data to train or improve AI models.
The DPDP Act and your shoppers
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you are the data fiduciary for your shoppers' data, and RowCall processes it for you. RowCall is a data fiduciary itself only for the records it needs for its own legal duties, such as consent and opt-out records for complaints about its numbers. When a shopper asks to see or erase their data:
Find their calls
Search Calls by phone number.Export, if they asked to see it
Download the calls, transcripts and answers as a file.Delete, if they asked to erase it
Delete the contact. RowCall removes their recordings, transcripts and answers, and keeps only what the law requires, such as the consent record and the opt-out.
