Quickstart: your first call

Preview

Copy the order verification flow, try it in your browser, publish it and have the agent call your own phone.

In this quickstart you take the ready-made Order verification flow, try it in your browser, publish it, and have the agent call your own phone. It takes about ten minutes, and none of it calls a shopper.

What you need

  • A RowCall account with the Owner, Admin or Builder role. See Getting access.
  • A browser with a microphone.
  • Your own phone, for the test call.

Steps

  1. Open the flow library

In the RowCall app, open Flows and the Library tab. You'll see the ready-made ecommerce flows.

  2. Copy Order verification

Open Order verification to read it first, then select Use this flow. RowCall copies it into your org as a draft. See Order verification for what each step does.

  3. Change the wording if you like

The disclosure already uses your org's name. Adjust a question on the Diagram tab if you want. See Writing good questions.

  4. Simulate a call

Select Simulate. The inputs are filled with samples (a shopper called Asha, order 4821). Choose Type as the shopper or Talk as the shopper and answer as a shopper would. Nothing is dialled, and actions answer with sample replies you can change.

  5. Check what happened

You see each line, each answer as it's captured, any action the flow asks for, and the outcome. Try saying "no" to the address question to see the other branch. See Simulate a call.

  6. Publish

Select Publish. A flow can be published once a simulation has passed and its draft has no problems.

  7. Have the agent call you

Open Calls, select Test call and choose Call my phone. Enter your number and answer it. Test calls go only to you, and you can also talk in the browser instead.

  8. Read the result

Open the call in Calls: the recording, the transcript, every answer and the outcome. See Read results.

The phone rings, RowCall says it’s an automated assistant, asks the flow’s question, and the reply is saved as an answer with an outcome.

What to do next

  • Read the page for the flow you want to run first in Flows you can run.
  • Decide how runs will start: by hand, from a CSV, or from your store through your platform or the API.
  • Check the compliance pages with whoever owns consent at your company.
  • Before calling real shoppers, verify your business and top up. See Getting access.
