What RowCall keeps from Shopify
PreviewWhat RowCall reads from Shopify, how it stays in step, where it lives, and when it is deleted after you remove the store or a shopper asks.
RowCall reads your store so every call knows the order it's about. This page lists what it keeps, how it stays current, and when it's deleted.
What RowCall reads
| Data | What RowCall keeps |
|---|---|
| Orders | Number, items, totals, payment (cash on delivery or prepaid), fulfilment and delivery, refunds, the shopper's name, phone, email and addresses, tags and note |
| Customers | Name, phone, email, language, order count and amount spent |
| Returns | The items returned and the reasons given |
| Products | Titles, variants and SKUs, so calls can name what was bought |
Orders come from the last 60 days when the store connects (Shopify's limit without extra approval), and every order after that. RowCall never reads payment card details: Shopify doesn't share them.
Each shopper with a phone number becomes a contact in Contacts, linked to the store's customers and orders. A contact you added yourself stays yours: the store's data never changes its name.
How it stays in step
- Webhooks: Shopify tells RowCall when something changes, and RowCall reads the changed object within a minute.
- Catch-up: every 15 minutes RowCall asks Shopify for anything changed since the last check, in case a webhook went missing.
- Audit: every night RowCall compares its counts with Shopify's, and finds and fixes any difference.
Every read is recorded: when, why (which webhook, or which check), what changed, and an exact copy of what Shopify sent. Open an order in Orders to see its history; owners and admins can see what Shopify sent for each read, and each view is recorded in the audit log. Refresh from Shopify reads it again on the spot.
Where it lives
Store data is kept in India, in Bengaluru, with the rest of your org's data. See Recordings and data.
How long it stays
As long as the store is connected, RowCall keeps its data, so calls and history can go back as far as the store does.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| You disconnect the store | Its data is deleted after 25 days (or at once, if you choose), within Shopify's 30 days |
| The app is uninstalled from the store | Its data is deleted straight away |
Shopify sends shop/redact | All of the store's data is deleted |
A shopper asks Shopify to be forgotten (customers/redact) | Their customer record and their details on orders and returns are removed, within 30 days |
A shopper asks Shopify for their data (customers/data_request) | RowCall prepares everything it holds about them for you to send |
Deleting covers the orders, customers, returns, products, the read history and the copies of what Shopify sent. Contacts the store created are deleted too, unless they were called (they keep their calls) or another store still links to them.
